Privacy policy

Briefly, so you do not have to read all of it: this website sets no cookies, counts no visitors and loads not one file from a foreign server. Fonts, icons, images and the script are all here. Exactly one thing is stored on your device, and only if you choose it yourself: whether you want the site light or dark.

The German version is the legally binding one. This is a translation for convenience. Where the two differ, the German text applies.

1. Controller

Responsible for the processing of data on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Projekt Nexapps, nexdeck
E-mail: contact@nexapps.dev

No data protection officer has been appointed; the conditions of § 38 BDSG do not apply.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

ALL-INKL.COM, Neue Medien Münnich
Inh. René Münnich
Hauptstraße 68
02742 Friedersdorf, Germany

The host processes the data arising when the website is called up on my behalf, under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The servers are located in Germany; no transfer to third countries takes place.

3. Server log files

When this website is called up, the server automatically collects information your browser transmits and stores it in log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of the request
  • name and address of the file retrieved
  • amount of data transferred and whether the retrieval succeeded
  • the previously visited page, if your browser sends it
  • browser, version and operating system

Purpose: delivering the website, operational security, troubleshooting and defence against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in providing the website in a technically sound and secure manner.
Retention: the logs are deleted after seven days at the latest. If they are needed to investigate a specific incident, they are kept until it is resolved.

This data is not merged with other sources and is not used to identify you as a person.

4. What is stored on your device

No cookies. This website sets none, neither its own nor anyone else's.

One entry in local storage, and only if you choose it. If you click "Light", "Dark" or "System" in the top bar, the page stores your choice under the name nd-fassung in your browser's local storage. The value is exactly one of those three words. It contains no identifier, is never sent to a server, and exists only so the page looks the way you set it the next time you visit.

As long as you do not click, nothing is stored. You can delete the entry at any time through your browser settings by clearing site data for this address; the page then returns to its default.

Under § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG no consent is required for this storage, because it is strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested: you chose the appearance yourself. No further storage of or access to information on your device takes place, which is why this site has no consent dialog.

The language switch remembers nothing. It is an ordinary link to a second page.

The search in the top bar fetches one file from this server the first time you open it and searches it in your browser. What you type never leaves your device.

5. No analytics

No analysis and no usage tracking takes place, with neither an own nor a third-party tool. There is no tracking pixel, no statistics software and no visitor profiles.

6. No content from foreign servers

No fonts, map services, video portals, icon libraries, advertising networks or third-party scripts are embedded. Every file is delivered by the same server as the page itself. When you call up this website, your browser contacts no other server.

Links to GitHub, Docker and other projects are ordinary links. Only when you click one does its operator learn of your visit, and their privacy policy applies from then on.

7. Contact by e-mail

If you write to me, I process your address and the content of your message in order to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, and for an enquiry about a contract also (b). I delete the message once it is dealt with and no retention obligation stands in the way.

8. The application itself

This policy covers this website. It does not cover nexdeck as an application: that runs on your own server, and you are the controller for it. There is no version operated by us, no account with us, and no place where data from your house could land with us.

One thing belongs said here, because you as the operator are the controller: nexdeck queries services outside your house for some cards. The weather comes from a weather service, feeds come from the source you enter, icons for app tiles are fetched from a public collection, and the update check asks GitHub for the latest version. These requests are made by your server, not by your users' browsers, and they only arise for cards you created yourself. What the provider in question does with them is in their terms.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Please use the address above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example the data protection authority responsible for your place of residence.

10. Changes

If something about the website changes, this policy is adjusted. The version in force is always the one at this address.
